La Paz to Copacabana – Island of the Sun

After breakfast, embark on a private trip from La Paz with a scenic view of Lake Titicaca along the way. After a 3-hour journey, you’ll reach the charming town of Copacabana, located on the shores of the lake. Visit the famous Virgen Morena and its historic church. From here, take a boat ride to the Island of the Sun, stopping at Huacani for a traditional Aptapi lunch. Continue by boat to visit the ruins of Pilkokaina Inca Temple before hiking to La Estancia. Enjoy stunning views of Lake Titicaca along the way. Overnight stay on Sun Island at the Ecolodge La Estancia.

Island of the Sun – Island of the Moon – Return to La Paz

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise. After breakfast, hike down to Yumani, visiting the Inca stairs and the Water of Eternal Youth. Take a boat north to explore the Chincana ruins and the Sacred Rock before continuing to the Island of the Moon, where you’ll visit the Iñak Uyu Inca ruins. Return to Copacabana by boat and take a private transfer back to La Paz.

La Paz City Tour & Valley of the Moon

Enjoy breakfast before setting off on a half-day city tour of La Paz. Explore the bustling street markets, visit San Francisco Church, Murillo Square, and the Gold Museum. Head to the colonial section of the city and enjoy panoramic views from the “Mirador de Killi Killi.” Conclude the tour with a visit to the surreal Valley of the Moon, where erosion has shaped the landscape into bizarre formations. Ride the famous La Paz cable car, “Teleférico,” to experience a unique view of the city. Optional: Explore La Paz’s neighborhoods and markets with a shoe-shiner guide for a more intimate, off-the-beaten-path experience (extra cost).

Uyuni Salt Flats

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Uyuni. Upon arrival, transfer to the village of Uyuni. Begin your adventure by visiting Colchani village to witness the local production of salt. Journey across the expansive Uyuni Salt Flats to reach Isla Incahuasi, home to unique volcanic rocks and giant cacti. Continue to visit the pre-Columbian Aique Pucara fort and chullpares tombs at the foothills of Thunupa volcano. End the day with a spectacular sunset on the salt flats. Optional: Enhance your experience with a luxury cocktail or stargazing under the vast Uyuni sky (extra cost).

Optional Sunrise Tour & Flight to La Paz

Optionally, you can start your day with an early morning transfer to Uyuni Salt Flats to witness a magical sunrise. Afterward, return to the hotel for breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to La Paz. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Optional: Visit the ancient Tiwanaku ruins, one of the most important pre-Inca civilizations (extra cost).
