Cambodia – Siem Reap

Arrival in Phnom Penh

Upon your arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can settle in (please note that your rooms may not be ready until the afternoon). After a brief rest, embark on an afternoon adventure beginning with a visit to the National Museum. Designed in traditional Khmer style by Georges Groslier in 1917, this museum  houses an impressive collection of Khmer art, particularly sculptures. Next, explore the Royal Palace, a magnificent structure built by King Norodom in 1866, and the Silver Pagoda,
known for its stunning 5,000 silver tiles and treasures, including a solid gold Buddha and a 17th-century emerald Buddha. Conclude your day with a visit to Wat Phnom, a serene temple founded in 1373, which houses important Buddhist relics washed ashore. Enjoy dinner on your own at a local restaurant or café before returning to the hotel for the night.

Exploring Phnom Penh

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before diving into the history of Cambodia. Visit the Tuol Sleng Museum (S21 Prison), a haunting site that served as a detention and torture center during the Khmer Rouge regime. Afterward, you will have some leisure time at the Russian Market (Psah Tuol Thom Pong), where you can shop for local crafts and souvenirs. Lunch is on your own, allowing you to explore local dining options. In the afternoon, visit the Independence Monument, which celebrates Cambodia's independence
from France, and Wat Langka, one of Phnom Penh’s original pagodas, founded in 1422 and recently renovated. A unique experience awaits as you take a cyclo ride through the central districts, allowing you to appreciate the city's beautiful colonial architecture. As the sun sets, enjoy a joint sunset cruise on the Tonle Sap and Mekong rivers, taking in the stunning views of the waterways. After a delightful day, have dinner at your leisure and return to the hotel for the night.

From Phnom Penh to Siem Reap

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for Phnom Penh International Airport, where you will catch a flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel to check in (rooms may not be ready until the afternoon). Once settled, head out to explore the Roluos Group, which includes the ancient temples of Preah Ko, Bakong, and Lolei, significant for marking the beginning of Khmer classical art. After a delightful afternoon exploring these historic sites, you’ll have lunch on your own and continue your temple tour with visits to Prasat Kravan, Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei, and Ta Prohm, where nature and architecture beautifully intertwine. After a day of exploration, enjoy dinner at your convenience and rest at the hotel.

Discovering Siem Reap

Following breakfast at the hotel, embark on a full day of exploring the wonders of Angkor. Begin with a visit to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, a majestic entrance adorned with impressive stone carvings. Explore the Bayon Temple, famous for its serene stone faces, before moving on to Baphuon, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, and the stunning Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. After lunch on your own, you’ll conclude your day with a visit to Angkor Wat, the most iconic temple complex, renowned for its intricate design and historical significance. Stay until sunset to witness the temple’s stunning silhouette against the evening sky. After a fulfilling day, enjoy dinner at leisure and return to your hotel for the night.

More Temples and Cultural Experiences

Rise early for a spectacular sunrise at Angkor Wat—an experience not to be missed! After witnessing the dawn light illuminating the temple, return to your hotel for breakfast. The day continues with a visit to Banteay Srei, often referred to as the jewel of classical Khmer art, known for its remarkable pink sandstone carvings. You’ll also stop at a local village to bserve the traditional process of palm sugar production. Lunch is on your own, allowing you to sample local cuisine. In the afternoon, continue your exploration with visits to Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, Eastern Mebon, and Pre Rup, each offering unique architectural beauty and rich history. Conclude your day with a breathtaking sunset view from Pre Rup before returning to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Siem Reap Departure

On your final day, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out for a visit to a local floating village. Experience the unique lifestyle of those living on Tonle Sap Lake, one of Asia’s largest freshwater lakes, by taking a traditional wooden boat trip. After your boat ride, visit Senteurs D’Angkor, where you can discover traditional handmade products unique to the region. Enjoy lunch on your own before visiting Les Artisans d’Angkor – Chantiers Ecoles, where you can see young artisans at work creating beautiful Cambodian crafts. If time permits, spend your remaining time at leisure exploring a local market for last- minute shopping. Finally, you will be transferred to Siem Reap International Airport for your departure flight, concluding your memorable journey in Cambodia.
